Advanced Oral Care at Home
The Best Things to Do Keep Your Optimal Oral Health: While regular dental visits are essential to better oral health, there are many things you can do at home to ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy for years to come. Here are some practices to keep in mind:
- Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste for two minutes
- Clean between your teeth daily. Waterpiks are a great addition to your oral hygiene routine. But using traditional floss is best. Flossing can effectively remove the remaining 40% of plaque and tarter that you can't reach when simply brushing.
- Using an electric toothbrush. Any toothbrush with soft bristles will help remove plaque. However, studies have shown that an electric toothbrush with a soft bristle brush helps remove even more plaque. This is due to the electric toothbrushes pulsating, oscillating, and/or rotating. Mimicking as best as it can to the experience of getting your teeth cleaned in a dental office. To discover which toothbrushes we recommend, give our office a call!

Sealants
Sealants are an effective way to help prevent cavities. According to the CDC it is estimated that sealants actually protect against about 80% of cavities within the first two years after being applied.
What are sealants? Sealants are a composite resin material that is applied in thin layers to your molars and pre-molars. No anesthetic is involved, and it is typically a quick appointment, 30 minutes or less.
